Luqmanul Hakim A.K.A Mee Wan has done an impressive job on the 1/144 Revell Airbus 320 Indonesian AirAsia Flight 8501.  The decals on this model are an aftermarket set and look excellent.


Andrea Pomettini is here with his stunning looking 1/48 Italeri Junkers Ju.87 Stuka in a desert camo scheme.  Andrea experimented with some new techniques and he tells about this in his article.  I love the look of his Stuka and the diorama display base.

Djibouti National Day

Mark L. Rossmann is here with his fantastic 1/48 Tamiya P-51D Red-Tail Mustangs 332nd Fighter Group.  Mark tells some wonderful history about the Tuskegee Airman and even includes some photos of a full sized Mustang in Red tail Tuskegee Airman markings.  Mark's articles are always a treat to read.

Shawn "phantom" Weiler is here with his big beautiful 1/72 Revell B-52.  This is a classic kit that builds up into a great looking B-52 with a little bit of effort.  Shawn did this fine old kit justice.

Andrew Desautels (a.k.a. "Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy") is here with a gem.  This is his 1/72 Revell F-16C Block 25 with modifications and plenty of aftermarket goodies to build this specific jet.  He then finished it off with a full weathering job.  I love seeing his work on ARC!!

Order of Malta - St. John's Day

Thomas Brückelt is here with another gem from his workbench.  This is his 1/32 Revell Hughes 500 C with some wonderful scratchbuilt rotorhead scratchbuilt detailing.  Thomas then detailed the cockpit and finished this little chopper in a great looking black scheme. 

Juan Carlos Gómez Y Sarzotti did an excellent job and has some helpful advice on building the 1/48 Hasegawa Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien.  Juan also has some helpful advice on building this particular Ki-61 kit.  The finished model looks great.

Model shows this weekend:

El Rey joins us from sunny Mexico with his awesome looking 1/48 Monogram Mi-24D Hind.  El Rey added some scratchbuilt detailing and finished it in great looking camo as seen on Russian Hinds in Afghanistan.  This older kit looks good when built by a skilled modeler.

Juan Carlos Gómez Y Sarzotti had a good time building his 1/48 Hasegawa Grumman Hellcat.  Juan gave his Hellcat excellent pre-shaded weathering and carefully applied exhaust stains.  Very nicely done.

Dragan Cvetic is here with his beautifully built 1/48 Dragon Me-262a1a.  Dragan used aftermarket decals to finish this model with just the perfect amount of weathering. 

Carl Jarosz is here with his awesome looking 1/72 Academy P-51B Mustang.  This early Mustang has identification stripes on the top and bottom side of the wings and Carl explains this in his article.  The cockpit was enhanced with scratchbuilt detailing and his P-51 is given a subtle weathering job.

Juan Carlos Gómez Y Sarzotti did a wonderful job painting and weathering his 1/48 Hasegawa Ki-44 Shoki.  Markings and exhaust stains look perfect.  I enjoyed seeing this Ki-44 on ARC.

Dragan Cvetic is here with his 1/72 Airfix F-4 FG1 Phantom in Royal Navy markings.  Dragan added drop tanks and a full weapons load to complete his beautifully shaded Phantom.

Sertaç Bayar is here with his sharp looking 1/32 Academy F-16C Solo Turk Display Team.  This is a special scheme Sertaç custom painted and to complete the project he did some resin items.  Quite the cool looking demo scheme jet.

Thomas Brückelt is here with another of his gems.  This is his 1/48 Tamiya Hughes 500C finished as a chopper in the UK.  I like the look of this chopper in red.

Iceland Anniversary of the Establishment of the Republic

Klaasjan Schuuring is here with a stunning example of the 1/32 Tamiya P-51DKlaasjan added some Eduard photo etch and some resin detail in the gun bays and then gave his fighter sexy noseart and a flawless bare metal finish.  This is one beautiful Mustang.

Frederic Cottin has done a great job getting thing right on his 1/48 Trumpeter F-100D Super SabreFrederic added a resin cockpit and a resin intake and then finished his jet in French markings complete with sharks mouth and some great looking camo.

No update yesterday or today.  I've been busy working 18 hour days between my 2 jobs.  Plus I did manage to upgrade the discussion forum program to the latest version and then fix a problem preventing people from posting messages that appeared after the latest upgrade.  I hope the forum problems are resolved now.  E-mail me if you are still having issues

Philippines Independence Day

Russia National Day

S K Loh has done an exceptional job on his tiny 1/144 Academy F-16A.  This F-16 is displayed as an inflight model with just the perfect amount of markings in the markings for a USAF jet based in Korea.  This is one sweet looking F-16 display.  I love S K's work.

Mike Krahn has done an stunning job on his 1/48 Academy P-47D.  This Jug is finished in tin foil to get the bare metal finish and markings that include nose art.  It's a special treat seeing Mike's P-47 on ARC.

Carl Jarosz is here with his flawless looking 1/48 Great Wall Hobby T-33A Trainer.  Carl has high praise for the Great Wall Hobby T-33 and you can read about that in his article.  His T-33 looks fantastic.

Mark L. Rossmann is here with an exceptional article on his 1/48 Eduard Hellcat "Ace of Aces".   Mark's articles are always loaded with history and this article detail the Hellcat history as well as some of the Aces that flew it.  His model is exceptional and his article is a joy to read.

Sweden National Day 

D-Day - Allied Landings in France in 1944

Carl Jarosz is here with his 1/72 Airfix P-51D Mustang Tenn. ANG to mark the75anniversary of the D-Day landings.  Carl dressed up the cockpit with some scratch built details and finished with a multi-paneled bare metal finish and a beautiful weathering job. 

Dragan Cvetic is with 2 Israeli gems.  These are his 1/144 Dragon Kfir C-2 and C-7 with resin cockpits and vacuformed canopies and finished in 2 very different and equally good looking paint schemes with a delicate weathering job.  Very nicely done Dragan.

Sam Ching did a first class job finishing and weathering his 1/72 Airfix SAAB J-35 Draken.  Sam added a metal pitot tube and finished it in Swedish markings.  Quite the attractive Draken.

Thomas Brückelt has done some excellent detailing on his 1/48 Academy Hughes 500MD ASW.  There is quite a bit of scratchbuilt detailing added to this little chopper and then it is finished in Republic of China markings.

  Battle of Midway (1942)

Ed Ellickson has combined some kit bashing and good old fashioned modelling skills to create his 1/72 YF-105A Thunderchief Conversion.  I love the idea of building this jet and Ed explains the process in his article very well and includes a link on Britmodeller for more info.  A very cool projet Ed.

Bob TheDoc added some seatbelts and finished his 1/72 IBG Models RWD-8 in Latvian Air Force markings.  This is the first  RWD-8 and it is an interesting look at the early monoplane designs.  Beautifully done Bob.
