Here I present some pics of my recently built Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien, from Hasegawa in 1/48 scale.

The kit presented no problems at all, minimum filler required at the wing to fuselage joint, which was dealt with Vallejo acrylic putty, which is an excellent one. You must pay attention at the wing root though, I had to put some styrene pieces inside the wing to "pull it up" a little, to match the fuselage "height", otherwise, a big step would appear there. Beside that, the kit is wonderful. Aftermarket mask were used for the canopy painting. Decals were so so, hard ones, and required multiple treatment with Micro sol. The wing hinomarus were repainted on several parts over the decals, as they were not that good.

Wheel well weathering was done with hard chalk pastels, AMMO PLW was used too, and the model was painted with various brands of acrylic paints, AMMO of Mig Giménez, AK-Interactive and K-4.

Happy modelling!
