United States of America Independence Day

I'd like to wish all my American friend at home and overseas a very Happy 4th holiday!!!  Be well, relax and have a beer while you enjoy your long holiday weekend with family and friends.  I've got a big update featuring only American aircraft.

Jim Birchfield gets this special 4th of July update off to a flying start with his 1/48 Monogram A-26B.  This beautifully weathered A-26 has history in the Bay of Pigs Invasion back in 1961.  Jim tells more about the history in his article.

Jacey Guo joins us from Australia with his 1/72 Hasegawa F/A-18D Topgun.  Jacey finsihed off this F/A-18 in a Topgun paint scheme with a personal touch.  I do like how it turned out.

Olaf Sprenger is here with his first article on ARC.  This is his 1/48 Revell F4U-5 Corsair with the added detail of an Eduard detail set.  Olaf chose the  1953 markings for VF-14 for his great looking Corsair.

Serge Dompierre has been busy building his 1/48 Monogram F-8 Crusader.  Serge did an excellent job on this older kit and by adding a full weapons load and finishing it in the colourful markings from the early '70's.

Daniele Dotti has done a marvelous job building and finishing t his 1/72 Trumpeter P-40B Kittyhawk.  Daniele chose the markings for the legendary Flying Tigers AVG (American Volunteers Group) in China 1941.

Stanton Fodness has done an extra special job detailing and weathering his 1/48 Hasegawa F/A-18F Super Hornet.  Stanton added plenty of after market detail items and finished off his Super Hornet with Fightertown decals and a full weathering job.  This is one dirty Navy bird.

Francisco A. has put quite a bit of effort detailing his 1/72 Italeri OH-58D Kiowa.  Francisco added detail in many areas on his chopper with very good results and finished it off in US Army markings on a diorama base.

Serge Dompierre finishes off this special update with his sharp looking 1/48 Monogram F-106.  Serge enjoys these older kits and has much success turning them into eye catching models of these classic jets.

  Belarus Independence Day

Today's update is a bit late.......I worked long hours in my backyard yesterday and went to bed early in the evening totally exhausted.

Louis Chang joins us with this 1/48 Grand Phoenix Firefly MK1.  Louis is a very skilled modeller and you will see that when you look at his Firefly.

Ray Hemenway is here with something a bit different.  This is Ray's 1/150 Doyusha U-209.   Now the cool part about this sub is that it actually does work.  Nicely done Ray!!!

Tony Feredo joins us from the warm Philippines with his 1/48 Hasegawa Ki-61 Hien.  Tony's Ki-61 is an aircraft that served in the Philippines during WW2.  Tony gave his Tony photos etch seat belts....some painted makings but the item that caught my eye was the field applied sugar came camo Tony applied.  I've never heard of this and it came out looking very well.

Sabri Sencer joins us with a beautifully done 1/48 Tamiya MIG-15 Bis.  Sabri gave this Mig a bare metal finish in different shades for different panels and the panel line highlighting looks perfect.  A very good looking model of this classic  jet.

Here is a preview for the 1/32 F-14A Adversary Bad Cats decal sheet from Fightertown Decals.  This sheet features Topgun and NSAWC Tomcats.

Chuck Sawyer got everything right on his 1/32 Academy CF-18.  Chuck had to convert a F-18C to an A model with the Canadian mods and then he finished it off with a resin cockpit, full weapons load and Canadian markings and full weathering.  Wow....this one came out looking exactly like the real jet.

Shawn "Phantom" Weiler is back with another Canadian aircraft today.  This is his 1/48 Academy CH-113 Voyageur in early '60's Canadian markings.  It's good to see this chopper in these marking and paint scheme....nice one Shawn.

Juan Carlos Gómez has dropped by today with his 1/48 ESCI F-104.  This is an older kit but that didn't stop Juan Carlos from finishing his Canadian CF-104 in fine style.

Guy Lemieux is here with something different.  This is his What-if 1/48 Italeri Tornado CADV  in Canadian markings.  I must admit I love the look of the Tornado in Canadian markings.
