This is the Bf 109 E in theBattle of Britain exhibit at Duxford. According to the IWM information.

"This aircraft, 1190, saw combat with fighter unit JG26 in the Battles of France and Britain. It shot down five allied aircraft but on 30th September 1940 its engine failed in combat. The aircraft crash landed in a field near East Dean, Sussex. The pilot, Horst Perez, was shot wounded and captured as he tried to get out of the aircraft. The tableau shows 1190 under guard shortly afterwards."

"One side of 1190 has been restored to look as it did when it crashed."
