This latest release
from QuickBoost
features a P-47D-30 Thunderbolt Dorsal Fin Conversion for the Tamiya
kit. When the P-47 started using the bubbletop canopy, the fuselage
area behind the canopy had to be cut down. This cause yaw instability and
to correct this a Dorsal fin extension in the form of a narrow triangle running
from the vertical tailplane to the radio aerial was added. This
conversion was also added to aircraft in the field.
The quality of the resin casting is
flawless and bubble free. This
Dorsal Fin Conversion for the 1/72 Tamiya P-47 will permit you to
convert your P-47 to the Dorsal fin style. You will be required to cut
away the corresponding area of your Tamiya kit and then glue this resin piece
into place.
This piece has fine recessed
panel lines and no rudder. This will permit you to use the Tamiya rudder
and reposition it for added realism.
It's good to see
Quickboost making this item available for modellers that crave to have a Dorsal
fin on their P-47 Thunderbolt.
You can purchase these and other
fine resin detail items directly from QuickBoost.
