"Random Thoughts"  Magazine is put out by IPMS Canada (International Plastic Modellers Society of Canada) and is sent to all IPMS Canada members.  "Random Thoughts"  is a bimonthly magazine, in English, containing 24 pages of photos, drawings, kit reviews, model conversion articles, hints n' tips, wants and disposals, and other items of interest. All content is provided by the members, for the members. As an added membership bonus, every now and then we send out a free special project item with your magazine.  This particular issue came out in April 2005 and is has the typically pleasing variety of articles.
This particular issue features a natural metal RCAF P-51 Mustang in the markings of 442 Squadron built by Randy Lutz from the 1/48 Tamiya kit. Randy provided a full build article on his Canadian P-51 which includes 6 pages and 16 B&W photos of the in-progress build and detailing of his Mustang as well as photos of the finished model.
For WW2 aircraft modellers, Steve Eisenman has a 4 page article with 6 photos (colour and B&W) discussing the Malta Blue Spitfires.  In his article Steve speculat4s about 12 Spitfires that were shipped from Scotland to Malta in Apr 1942 and how they ended up flying off Wasp to Malta in a totally different paint scheme....a blue scheme.....and what colour of blue this might have possibly been. An very interesting article.
For the armour modellers, Steven Milstone has a 5 page article with 15 photos (colour and B&W) discussing the detailling of his Tamiya Wespe SPG.  Steven used Aber photo etch, Modelkasten tracks and a large amount of old fashioned modelling skill and scratchbuilding.  He details all this in his well written article.

Robin Purgina has a 2 page report on the 2005 Nuremberg Toy Show.

Tony Bell has a 3 page article with 7 photos (colour and B&W) of converting his Tamiya Me 262A-2a to a Me-262A-1a.  Tony uses a Cutting Edge cockpit set, Cutting Edge resin slats and Eagle Strike decals.  Tony did some scratchbuilding and good ol' modelling to further improve his 262 and he tells all about this and the weathering in his informative article.

An enjoyable issue full of information.
