Klimke
had 16 victories to his credit by the end of the war. He and his
observer dropped five 22 Lb bombs. The paint scheme is a
fabric that is overall Fokker green streaked over clear doped linen
with a yellow rear fuselage, tail, engine cowling ring, wing struts and
wheels. The rudder is white. The propeller is wood. All
the black crosses have white outlines. The underside of the wings
and fuselage is a Fokker Turquoise (light blue) colour. There is a
yellow anchor on the side of the fuselage and a large black anchor on the
topside of the tail....these were applied at the insistence of the pilot's
mother for good luck....he survived the war....so it must have worked.
The
third aircraft is a Fokker Dr.1 404/17 (W.Nr. 1988) flown by
Hauptmann Adolf Ritter von Tutschek, Kommandeur, JG 2 from Toulis in March
1918. By August 1917 he had 21 victories and received the Pour le
Merite. He was shot down and killed in this aircraft on March 15
1918. The paint scheme is a
