With
the exact same artwork that was done on the 1/48th scale release by
Twobobs, this sheet should appeal to modellers that don't have the shelf
space for a monster B-1 in the bigger scale.
There are enough markings on this sheet for three complete jets to include all stencil data. The first aircraft is 86-138 Seek and Destroy - is the jet that struck the "high priority target" (Saddam Hussein) during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Mission markings and nose art are all included for this historic aircraft. The second aircraft is 86-095 Dakota Demolition with Nose art and mission markings from Operation Iraqi Freedom The third aircraft is 86-125 Swift Justice with Nose art and mission markings from Operation Iraqi Freedom All three of these jets were done with the help of MSgt Robert Rowles of Ellsworth AFB. Heck Robert even picked the three jets that they wanted done! |

The quality of the decals is first rate and includes all the stencils to do all 3 jets. The artwork is done by Archer Fine transfers to get the subtle shading just right. These are included as a separate insert. I'm torn between 2 aircraft on this decal sheet.....the story behind the "seek and Destroy" plane that went after Saddam early in the Iraqi War is a B-1 with a good story behind it. but for artwork I am quite drawn to the "Swift Justice" B-1 with it's American Bald Eagle Nose art and mission markings from Operation Iraqi Freedom. This is a very historically interesting decal sheet and definitely worth picking up. |
