A few months ago, Black Box released a great F/A-18D ATARS conversion set for the Hasegawa F/A-18.  Great resin, no decals!!  Twobobs...along with Dave Roof's help....to the rescue!!  There are two aircraft represented on this sheet that are the final piece of the puzzle.

A/C 164729 is a jet from the Bengals of VMFA-224, MCAS Beaufort.  There is a standard D model painted in a very similar scheme that is with the same squadron.  Capt. Muratore, who is a pilot with VMFA-224, provided the Two Bobs with great references of this jet.  All the black tiger stripes that are represented on this A/C are actual decals and they are applied over the standard two-tone gray paint scheme.

A/C 164653 is a VMFA-242 "Bats" jet from MCAS Miramar.  This aircraft has some pretty huge squadron markings on the inside of the vertical stabs.  Other than those markings, a pretty basic paint scheme.

To build either one of these jets you're going to need the Black Box ATARS conversion set.  Dave Roof helped master this set and being a Marine, you know he had great access to the real thing, so you know that conversion set is going to be accurate.

The Two Bobs have some other Hornets from these two squadrons that are on their "radar scope".  Two standard D models with some more stylized markings than what you see here.  They'll get to those in the coming months.  If you're building an ATARS Hornet though, these decals are the only game in town!

As you can see by the scans of the decal sheets to the right.....there are plenty of decals for the F-18 with the Tiger Stripes....over 100 decals in all on these sheets.  The instructions are well laid out so doing all those Tiger stripes won't be a headache....just time consuming.  The printing is the usual high quality you have come to expect from Two Bobs.  I love the Tiger Scheme plane....this one will be  a hoot to build.  I'd like to thank the Two Bobs for sending me this review sample.
