1/48 Accurate Miniatures SB2U-3 Vindicator

by Rafi Ben-Shahar

I find it odd that some good looking kits do not feature often in the net.  Accurate Miniature's Vindicator is one example.  By contrast to say, the Spitfire or the Bf 109 variants, it looks like a real aeroplane presented at the 1/48 scale. However, beware. This is not an SBD or a TBF/M. While nicely detailed and probably well researched, it is difficult to be put together. Problem areas include the cockpit subassembly, the alignment of parts within, fit of canopy parts, wheel well area and the provision of scratchy instructions that are vague in critical areas. So, maybe this is the reason why modelers shun from this kit?
