Some more Soviet
aircraft! I am planning to build as many as I can in 1/48
scale. The Mig is
a recent re-release of a 1980's model. Nothing really good to write about it --
Raised lines, poor fit around the intakes and wings. A lot of the detail of
course, disappeared due the the amount of sanding needed to match these joins (I
suspect Revell wanted to cash in on the demand for the MiG without modernising
the kit). I added an IRST sensor under the nose from a part left over from a
MiG-23 to convert it into a MiG-25 PDS in Syrian Air Force colors. One picture is
a comparision of sizes between the MiG and a Su-27, just to show the sizes of
these two behemoths of the air!!

The Su-25 Frogfoot
was a simple and really sturdy kit (much as the real thing) from OEZ and a
straightforward build. No real problems other than some fit problems around
the intakes. I added a full range of weapons from the kit (pretty good variety
and volumes of them ) and gave it an Iraqi Air Force camo.
All the colors are Model Master
and I used a Badger air brush. Pretty simple paint work, no challenges to speak
of.

I still have a
Mig-21 and a MiG-27 in 1/48, but then, that 's another story, another time!!
