I used Model Master
Aluminum non-buffing metalizer for the natural
metal finish which was airbrushed on using my Badger 200 Airbrush. Paint
chipping was done by applying Testors Silver with a small brush. The
powder stains from the guns were made by drybrushing using Humbrol
Panzer Gray.
The black stripes
bordering the wing walk area were painted on by hand, after some careful and
slow masking, and were quite a chore to do.
No decals for this area were included with the kit.
I
really enjoyed building this model; the detail is good and it went together pretty
well. I used the kit decals, which provided very attractive markings.
The quality of the decals was okay, with some being good and some not so
good. I had to do some very precise cutting for the decals over the
airbrakes, but it worked out okay. This kit came in a 2-in-1 boxing with a
MiG-15, with the price being very reasonable.

Although the box nor
instructions tell you what version of the F-86 this model is, my research
indicated that “Peg “O” My Heart” was an F-86E, of the 336th FISq, 4th
FIWg based at Kimpo, South Korea, in 1952.
