This
is my first A-10. I have chosen the TA61028 Tamiya model kit. Although I’m
very satisfied with the end result, I would like to say (like many before me)
that if I had known better, then I would have chosen a different A-10 kit. The
kit itself is not so bad, it even looks like the real thing in the end, but it
has a big lack of details in some areas.

The
cockpit is one of them. The seat and both the front and side panels are just
empty plastic pieces. Of course you can use the decals set for the panels… I
must say, I expected more. Therefore I have decided to close the cockpit.
On
the other side, as it shows on one picture, I have created the oil and
electronic pipes on the landing gears using a thin wire, as well as the
Chaff/flare dispensers under the wings, using plastic and metal net. I have
chosen to use the 706th fighter squadron, 926th fighter
wing “A-10A Bagram Warthogs” Decals sheet from Twobobs
Aviation Graphics.
