To
build this kit, I used the Academy 1/32 Scale F/A-18C Hornet, Leading Edge
Decals (CF-18 Tiger Meet Special 1992), Eduard F/A-18 GRU/SJU detail set,
Model Masters FS35237 and FS36375. The
kit is a good build, some of the pieces on the landing gear can be a pain in
the butt, but overall it went together fairly well.

To
start the kit, you pretty much need to complete the landing gear, wheel wells,
engines and cockpit, of course these are also the most time consuming.
Once the kit was basically together, I photo copied the stencils
provided with the Leading Edge decal set and I printed them on frisket paper
and sticker paper at which point I sprayed the dark gray and then applied the
stencils, spraying the rest with the medium gray, this was the first time I
used sticker paper and it was unbelievable how much of a difference it made.
After
the kit was painted, it was just a matter of waxing it, applying the decals with
decal solution and dirtying it with chalk. I know there is a few errors,
especially on the tail, so pleas don’t write and tell me, sometimes it better
to leave minor details alone instead of creating major headaches.
If there is any questions, please feel free. Thank You
Dave
