In 1968 a MiG-19S from the East German Air Force was painted in a very colourful scheme for an airshow.  KP allows in its new kit #KPM0159 four nice paint schemes of four MiG-19, which were used in aerobatic teams.

The structures on the surfaces are made very lovely, the fitting of the parts is good. Just some cockpit parts need to be sandpapered a bit, so that the fuselage halves fit.  As shown in the manual, some weight must be placed above the bay of the nose gear. I added some more lead below the cockpit.

I painted the model with the Humbrol colours according to the instructions.

The decals are printed in a high quality on a thin foil which adapts well to the surface. But you need to handle them with care, because they break easily.  Unfortunately the red stripes on the fuselages were to short. So I had to overpaint a gap of about 8 mm length behind the canopy.  Further it would have been nice, if there were decals for the red stripes on the rudder. I printed the stripes on transparent decal foil according to a side view and overpainted them after I attached them.

Finally I sealed the model with silk, clear varnish from Mr. Hobby.

The MiG-19 from KP is a nice kit, the painting of the "Red 872" is a bit challenging. So, to less experienced modellers, I would recommend to take one of the other three paint schemes, which also look cool.
