My latest project entailed this duo from Eduard. It's a limited edition combo pack called "Reichsverteidigung" which means Empire's defence. It contains a Messerschmitt Bf-109G-6/14 and a Focke Wulf Fw-190A-8 in 1:48 scale. And Eduard outdid itself with these two beauties. The quality of the moulds, the crisp details and fit are all of the highest standard and make for a pleasant build. I honestly have nothing to complain about.
Eduard provides decals and parts for no less than six versions of the Focke Wulf and seven Messerschmitts. Early in the build you have to choose which version you want to build and I decided to pick two which would be slightly challenging when it comes to painting. However, the only problem I faced was that my super glue is slowly losing its strength and getting fresh glue is somewhat of a challenge.
Using Mr Hobby water colours to airbrush on the complex camouflage was a treat. I used blue tac, tape and free hand techniques to get it all right and after a light wash and some chipping I called it a day. I'm quite pleased with how these two turned out. I hope you will enjoy the pictures.
