The F-35A's introduction hasn't gone unnoticed. Over budget and with a seriously long development period, which lasted longer than many planes have been in service, it's had it's share of criticism. It is however the cutting edge of modern combat technology. Let's hope it will never really have to show its teeth. Italeri actually did a really good job on this small scale. Detail is good. The cockpit is rather simple but that's not so odd given the relatively small number of good cockpit pictures that have been released of which many are of the mock up.

The build was quick and straightforward. Most parts seem to fit just perfectIy but I couldn't get the AIM120's to fit however but that might have been down to poor test fitting from my side.

Most time went in to taping this bird though. The light grey patterns on the fuselage are impossible to paint by hand so I decided to tape them. It took me the better part of two weeks of my spare time. The end result is satisfying though. I hardly weathered this kit.
