Well if your going to host a group build on ARC it is often wise to complete a couple models. This one took all of 3 days, start to finish. Its the 1991 re-release on the 1973 molded Shuttle Craft Galileo II. I last built this model back in 1978 or 1979. It was a kids kit then and a kids kit now. Something like a grand total of 19 parts and very few of them resembling anything ever seen on the original series of Star Trek.

I wanted to do this out of the box, the interior was. Which is fine as you can not see anything in there anyway. The rear of the shuttle however in no way or form looks like anything from the tv show. I added a couple strips of plastic sheeting. For the access panels. Then added a bay for the landing gear. Its not remotely like what was shown on tv but I feel looks better then what the kit offered.

A very simple kit of a very simple space craft. I picked it up at an antique shop of all places. It was the 25th anniversary addition. Still with the special stickers and surprisingly usable decals. Seemed to me the 50th anniversary group build was a perfect time for this old girl to be built. After all, no model is manufactured just to sit in the box. It needs building…….So it can sit on a shelf collecting dust.
