I built this nice little kit straight from the box, including part of the stock decals. National insignia, identification numbers and nose art markings were taken from a Superscale sheet, representing an aircraft from 63rd FS, 56th FG, operating from Boxted (UK, 1945).

The model sees extensive engraving of the fuselage with lots of rivets and other nice exterior details. A highly detailed cockpit with sidewalls, instrument panel, seat with belts and cockpit floor is included - as are crisply detailed wheel bays and engine.

Paints are mostly Humbrol/Revell enamels except for the underside, were I tried Alclad finishings for the first time. On top of a gloss black enamel primer, I experimented with Alclad shades of stainless steel, magnesium and airframe aluminium, until I was happy with the final look.

Weathering with enamel washes for the panel lines, spot oil washes and a silver pencil completed the job.

Thanks for looking!
