1/72 Airfix Cessna O-2A Skymaster

Hello Everyone, here is my latest finished model I like to show you. It is the old Airfix kit which I got from ebay for 15 Euro. As most people know the O-2A was used in the Vietnam war as a Forward Air Controller. There are no aftermarket decals available except for the ones made by DrawDecal, but I was not impressed so I went for plain black letter stencils and left overs.

For the first time I used Tamiya Acrylics White (it doesn’t yellow over the years) and Xtra-color ADC grey. This build was a bit of a sit back for me. Warped parts, terrible fit and finally I slipped my hand over it and cracked both tailbooms.

All together this little FAC-plane turned out ok. Much better than the one I did 30 years ago.

Hope you like it.
