For Kiwis all round the word, here is my version of Revell's Lockhhed Ventura. Built almost from the box but using Ventura Decals given to me by Pete Mossong at Telford in 2013.

This is an excellent kit by all standards. The only changes were to modify the cockpit to single pilot operation and replace kit nose 'guns' with brass tubes. Construction was simplified as the block with upper turret was clipped in place until all painting done. Then removed, turret added and clipped back. It was such a good fit it's only secured in place with the wash thinners.

Mr Colour Paints used all throughout. After a base of Mr White Primer, I used gloss white for the underside and roundel bases. Blue number 14 used for top darker blue and lightened for lighter shade. Pale blue 72 was the correct colour for the sides. A wash of Burnt Sienna was used to give some shade and then a spray of light blue on the top to fade the colours together.

Kia Ora!
