F-4E Converted to Turkish RF-4E/TM
Hello again and I bring you another Phantom. I had been contemplating
building a RF-4 and it wasn’t until I saw the Turkish camouflage RF-4s, that I decided to model that particular scheme.

I chose the aircraft that was
shot down by the Syrians in 2012 because it was one of two RF-4E/TM configured to carry the LOROP 146, a long range optical camera in a pod
carried on the centerline. My graphics department came through once again with a nice photo of a runway for my final presentation.
I used a Hasegawa German F-4E in 1/48 scale with aftermarket conversion
accessories for the nose and the extended leading edge slats. The hardest part was configuring the slats in the open position, but with super glue and
a lot of patience, the results were to my liking.
