This is one plane that I’ve wanted to build for many years and I finally got to it. This was a very old kit, and the fuselage halves had warped a little making the fitting a bit hard. Aside from that, the
fit for the rest of the parts was perfect. The decals were treated with decal bonder prior to their application as I am sure they would have disintegrated upon contact with water. MM paints were used for the color scheme as it was airbrushed freestyle. Prior to Desert Storm, I had the opportunity to see a modern AC-130 Gunship inside an out. It was amazing to learn the capabilities of this aircraft, and how simple it is to accurately rain death from above.

The model was lightly weathered by applying silver “paint chipping” effect on the propellers and leading wing edges. I also shaded the panel lines on the tri-color paint scheme.
