|
One of the finest P-38 Lightning Kits in 1/48 is that one by Academy. Its already some years old but shows some good details and fine panel lines. Eduard used that kit for its new limited Edition "P-38J over Europe".
The box contains further two nice PP`s and a lot of resin parts for the cockpit section. There is also a nice decal sheet with extremely thin decals. I used a decal sheet out of a Kagero book about the P-38.
My focus was to show a well worn P-38 often seen in WW II. So first I painted the model in black, than silver
(Mr Metalizer by Gunze) and finally in the common USAAF olive drab. Afterwards I taped some sections. After
peeling off the tape there was some nice effects on the fuselage and the wings. It needs a little bit of patience, but its worth. Best Regards, Matthias Becker
