This is my Dassault Rafale B built from the Hobbyboss 1/72 scale kit. Being a very nicely detailed kit, the only addition were photo-etched seat belts from my spare box, and I believe it doesn’t need much more than that. Cockpit is well represented with details molded in and a careful painting and dry-brushing work is enough make it nice looking.

Assembly went without problems, except when we talk about the air intakes. First it was needed to add some plastic card to avoid the “seeing thru” effect because it’s possible to see the inside of the kit thru the openings. Fitting to the fuselage is also tricky, and it was necessary to do multiple putty and sanding applications to get a nice finish.

Flaps and slats were cut to be repositioned in order to better represent the aircraft when parked, as we often see it.

Kit was painted with Gunze acrylics (FS36320) and weathered with oil paints. Decals came from Model Alliance Arctic Tigers Part 3 sheet, which also provides the option from a standard camouflaged aircraft from Escadron de Chasse EC 05.330 “Cote d’Argent” in 2007. No comments about the decals, just perfect!

Hope you like it as much as I enjoyed building it!

Cheers from Brazil!
