Gallery Article by Phil De Keyser on Dec 6 2011

This is my Spitfire Mk IX, the Spit belongs to Wg. Cdr J. Johnson, nickname Johnnie, he flew this plane in June of 1944 and he had 38 Victories.  He fought in several battles in the Second World War in the European Theatre, Dieppe Raid, Operation Overlord, Operation Market Garden, Battle of the Bulge and the Western Allied invasion of Germany.

Now something about the kit, it is built straight from the box and it is the ICM kit.  It is a nice kit with beautiful details, the engine is also from the kit, the panel lines are nice and the cockpit is one with good details.  The figure is from Revell and is a Re-Box from the old ICM kit.  The oil drums and jerry cans are from Tamiya and the oil container is from a Revell Set.  The base is scratch built using several materials.

Enjoy the photos.
