The
real thing: this aircraft stems from the early World War II Mk. I version
which equipped 19 FAA Squadrons. The Mk.
V appeared in 1947 for fighter-reconnaissance and anti-submarine role. It
operated in the Korean War also from HMS carriers Theseus, Glory, Ocean and Triumph,
plus Royal Australian Navy. It had the powerful RR Griffon which delivered 2.245
Hp.

The
model: this kit belongs to an early series I built in the far '90s. It's
straight from the box but is a very fun model to build. It was finished in
the F.A.A. scheme with Extra Dark Sea Grey FS 36099 on all upper surfaces
and Sky FS 34424 underside. Decals were as supplied in the box, paints (H.32
and H. 90 respectively) were - as usually for me - by the Humbrol Enamel
range. Although often criticized, Airfix releases many enjoyable kit.
Good modeling to all
the ARCair fellows!
