Silly Week 2011

This was the Mini Hobby Sukhoi SU-35/37 Super Flanker kit. The fit on this kit was terrible so I decided to make it into something else. I got this idea from watching 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. I guess it is sort of steampunk. I did a lot of scratch building on this kit. I used Pegasus hobbies chemical plant kit for the engine and Warhammer figures for the aircrew. It was painted with Tamiya metallics

This aircraft is from the 399 Squadron. It is armed with a good old fashion cannon and a 100mm Gatling gun. The aircraft has a crew of 2 (a pilot and a gunner). I built the gunners weapon from the front landing gear of the kit. The wings are capable of flapping like a bird.

If you want to see how I built this you can check out my in progress here: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=218111 . Thanks for looking.
