This
was not an easy kit to build by any means. There have been numerous articles
outlining the major issues with building this kit, but regardless of these I
have to say the end result is very nearly worth it….but not quite! Major fit
issues included a) Engine nacelles; b) Exhausts; c) Gear doors and d) observers
machine gun (which was eventually left off). The not so major fit issues were a)
Cockpit and b) Wings. Besides that the most surprising issue for a kit this
expensive, was the misalignment on so many parts. I can only advise folk with
this kit to get some good building practise in before you attempt this one.
The
beauty of this kit has got to be the office. It is an absolute gem of scale kit
engineering and you will go a long way to match it in terms of fit and finished
result!! My model was finished off with a mix of Model Master Acrylics and
Enamels as well as Warbird Acrylics. Weathering was for the most part Artists
Oils and Windsor and Newton pastels.

The
markings of this aircraft are that of an aircraft belonging to Oblt.
Rudiger Proske and BordFunker. Hans Mobius. I selected this particular
one because on the 18 August 1940 (My birthday just plenty years later) this
aircraft was shot down and crashed in Lydd Kent, both airmen became
prisoners and survived the war.
Beware
the unprepared traveller for there be Dragons here.
