The Seafire FR47 was used by the Fleet Air Arm during "Operation Firedog" in 1949-50.  This was the codename for Commonwealth air operations against communist terrorists during the Malayan Emergency of 1948-60.

The build was based on the old 1/32 Matchbox/Revell kit of the Spitfire F24, with the conversion set by Freightdog models, additional details were scratchbuilt like the folding wings, rockets etc, but I tried to retain as much as the original kit to keep the "Matchbox" spirit.

Paints were my own mix of Extra Dark Sea Grey and Gunze Sky, with decals from the Freightdog set.  Weathering was made heavy to represent a well used machine in the tropical climate.
