Silly Week 2010

This is the 1/72 Testors (Italeri rebox) F-16A/B kit.  The kit gave the option of building an A or B model, but I decided on the latter since I know two seaters will be not as common among my future F-16 builds.

Inspiration came from Trigger's concept in the Whif thread in the forum.  He and Fuji collaborated on the concept and design.  According to their backstory, Cuba never turns communist and procures F-16s.  Also, if you check the airframe # 78-0374 , you'll find that Israel wasn't the only country to accept part of the canceled Iranian F-16 order.

Decals are homemade, AGM-65s and AIM-9J are from the Hasegawa weapons set.  Drop tanks were kindly provided by Fellanoid (much appreciated!!!)  The kit was given a Pro Modeller wash as well.

The base was made from plastic sheet and a wood base from Hobby Lobby.  You can't see it, but self adhesive felt was added to the underside.  The plastic sheet was painted with Rustoleum texture paint, scribted, painted with Testors Canadian Voodoo Gray, and then given a Pro Modeller wash.  The wood base was stained with Min Wax and then given a poly urethane coat.
