My name is Juraj Macko, I am from Slovakia and here are a few photos of my latest project – Kamov Ka-25C. I've liked this chopper since I was a young boy, and that was a very long time ago J.

This is a short run kit from the Ukrainian Amodel brand, reboxed by Maquette.  After mining the parts from very crude sprues,  you can see that the kit is very well detailed, with nice engraved panel lines, but with very poor transparent parts. Decals I partially replaced with stars from Kanga set from Russia, partially I used decals from kit, but repainted them with enamels.

All panel lines were rescribed.  After the first coat of Humbrol primer I (after a long, long, long, long study of all accessible photos) decided irrevocably that the right color  for „serogoluboj“(bluegrey) of „voennogo morskogo flota“ is Revell 374. Some of the modelers often are using HU 128 Ocean Grey, but on the hellos this color is too dark.

If you want to build this kit, be patient  – in the reboxing by Maquette (and I think in the original Amodel too), which I built, is mishmash of the upper rotor section – blades of the rotor must be turned in the opposite direction to the lower.  In the box upper and lower rotor blades are turned into one direction. Reason is glue the blades of upper rotor to rotorhead, let to dry over night, then cut all blades and glue them into right opposite direction.

Kit is better suited for experienced modellers, and with carefulness and big batch of patience builds into nice model which looks more than interesting on the shelf amongst the "perfectly molded" Apaches etc.

Enjoy it!
