Here is my Fokker DVIII from Dragon. I built this kit straight from the box except for the rigging made from silver sprue. The special story with this kit is that I built it, and striped it, three times, in fact it was buried in my spare-parts box for two years. So four months ago I was searching for a tiny piece in this box and I was struck by the parasol wing and I told myself MMMM!!!??? why not try again!
Since a had no decals for it, I choose to paint much of the decoration and I found some German crosses on an Aeromaster sheet for the DVII. This plane was piloted by Theo Osterkamps in 1918 and he was shot down in it by two French Spad XIII "one of many times". He never scored any victories with this plane which is not surprising, it must have made a fine target in these colors. Alain Tricot |
