F/A-18D Hornet in U.S. Marines VMFA(AW)-225 markings

This kit is built straight out of the box.  I wanted to do an "in flight" Hornet, and this was my first ever attempt at doing so.  I think Hasegawa had other ideas in mind though, as getting the gear doors closed properly was quite a challenge!  I also had some minor fit problems with closing the canopy, but with some fiddling it came out pretty good.

The finish is Model Master paints, a wash was applied, and then those beautiful decals from Orion M.A. were applied.  The decals went on with no problem whatsoever, and they sure do liven up the aircraft.

For those of you attending the IPMS/USA Nationals in Dallas, stop by Orion's vendor table if you want to see it in person, as Dave Roof will have it on display.
