1/48 Hasegawa A-7

Gallery Article by Terry Sumner

Here's Hasegawa's 1/48 scale A-7. It was detailed with some of the parts from the Verlinden Update set including the ejection seat, armament from the Hasgawa weapons sets and a scratchbuilt instrument panel. Each instrument was individually made from p/e Reheat bezels and reheat instruments punched out with the old Waldron punch and die set. Tedious, but I like the effect!

The intake cover is a vac-form item from Bill Koster's sheet of various covers.  Many, many thanks to my best friend, Joe Wierzbinski for giving me his 15+ year old sheet of Microscale Hi-Viz decals. We thought they might fall apart under water, but they went on like they were new!  Airplane was weathered with the standard oil paints/turpenoid wash and chalk pastels.

Enjoy the photos.
