Josip chose the brightly trimmed bare metal finish of the Yugoslav
airforce as the markings for his very nice looking Thunderjet.

job detailing and weathering his 1/32 Hasegawa Fw-190.
Thanos detailed the engine and giun compartment on his super
detailed 190. Lovely job Thanos.

is here from Israel and he's been busy building his
Sabres for Israel.
I enjoyed seeing a Sabre done up in Israeli markings......it still
amazes me the variety of aircraft Israel has flown.

Renato "NIGHTRIDER Torin Jr.
joins us with
his very attractive 1/144 Hasegawa NAMC YS 11.
This particular airliner was used in Brazil. Renato paid special
attention to the small details to get everything looking just right.

Phil Vorvis has done an impressive job finishing his 1/48 Hasegawa CF-18 Hornet.
Phi; added a resin cockpit and extra scratchbuilding and
detailing to improve the detail on this very nice kit. He then
finished it off in Canadian markings with weathering.

Otter. He added a handmade resin nose

I have a message from
ARC'er Tony Hayes. IPMS
Hamilton has their model contest coming up on Feb 25 and they will be
collecting kits and suppllies for the troops in Kandahar. They have made the
decission to hold a Kits For Kandahar drive at the contest and will
run it until the end of March. Their goal will be to fill a cargo
container with kits and supplies. The club is even getting a TV spot
on their local station on the 23rd and will be promoting it there
to as well as modeling and the contest. Details will be on the website
soon. The museum is behind them 100% on this and the club is very excited
about this. Here is the museum's

Douglas K. L. Chan
starts your week with
part 1 of his 2 part article about building his
his 1/32 Academy F/A-18C Hornet Converted to CF-188.
Wow Douglas did quite the job creating his CF-188. Dougles
used a resin cockpit and seamless intakes to improve his CF-188
model. Part 2
will run tomorrow.

Scott Vomacka
has persistantly
stuck with and completed his
1/72 AMT/ERTL YB-49.
Scott finished his flying wing
in Bare Metal Foil, but not before he put
quite a bit of effort into finishing his model. The finished
model looks well worth his efforts.

Tom Di Maggio
had one heack of
a challenging time building his 1/48 Academy MIG 29 UB.
Of course the kit ebing badly warped from an unknown heat source by
the previous owner didn't help. Read all about the
"fun" Scott had in his article. I give him an
"A+" for persistance.

Louis Chang
has been
busy detailing and finishing his 1/48 Tamiya P-51D.
This model has a resin cockpit, resin landing gear bays and
Cutting
Edge P-51D decals as well as some excellent weathering and a
bare metal finish that is spot on.

Stephen Cann

with the first of what I hope will be many articles on ARC.
This is his 1/48 Testagawa F-16 Falcon
that he experiemnted with many techniques
learned from ARC. His finished F-16 came out looking very well
done indeed.
My thanks go to Stephen for sending it in and to all the ARC'ers
that help out by sending articles explaining their
techniques.....this has helped many modellers just like Stephen.

has done a
first class job on his 1/72 Hasegawa Harrier Gr.3.
Juanjo scratchbuilt a new cockpit and added careful weahtering to
the very well done paint job. The markings are for a Harrier
in the Malvinas/Falklands conflict

Luc Borlé
has
displayed plenty of talent and patience building his 6 engined
1/72 Messerschmitt Me-323 D1 Gigant.
This aircraft really was the heavy lift aircraft used by Germany
during WW@ and it's size can really chalenge a modeller, but Luc met
that challenge and went on to complete an excellent looking model of
this huge piston powered aircraft.

Nick is now an addicted bi-plane builder......which is a good
thing.

Eugene Trapezontas

1/48 Italeri (Dragon) Me-262a1.
Eugene did some minor detailing and has the perfect solution for the
rubber tires on this kit. The eye grabbing paint scheme with
it's yellow highlights and light paint chipping looks the part of a
battle hardened jet.

Nick had quite the disaster when he weathered it, but he recovered
with the help of fellow ARC'ers and turned out one very sweet 109.

This is one of the more eye cathcing Mirage 2000 paint schemes and
it is from Two
Bobs. Scott did it justice
with a flawless model.

Oxiel Carrizo
(Necsac) begins your Saturday
update with his 1/48 Monogram A-10 A Thunderbolt II.
This is one of the older Monogram kits and Oxiel took it to
excellent levels of detail with some aftermarket goodies and good
old fashion modeling skils.

Seeing these photos makes me think building plastic model kits
is much easier.

Alex
Sidharta kicks off today with his VERY
special article called Viper Vorever.
Alex article marks the 33rd Anniversary of the F-16
Viper.....long may she fly. Alex includes a fantastic variety
of models....20 models in all from a variety of Air Forces.
This was part of a display by the The
Indonesian Scale Model Society. Well done guys!!!

Floatplane/Seaplane group build
taking place between Dec
06 and May 07.
This is his 1/48 Tamiya Swordfish
which he added extra detail (if that is even possible on this kit) and
displayed it on a diorama base that is beyond perfection.

1/48 Monogram Grumman Lunar Module.

year Anniversary of Space Shuttle Columbia accident |

is here to remember the Space
Shuttle Columbia with his 1/144 Airfix shuttle Columbia-landing diorama.
It's been 4 years since we were all shocked to see Columbia
break-up on re-entry. It was a sad day for us all.
The crew included Rick D. Husband, William
C. McCool, Michael P. Anderson, David M. Brown, Kalpana Chawla
(India/USA), Laurel Blair Salton Clark and Ilan Ramon
(Israel).

This day 3 of the
special 3 day update marking the anniversary of the start of the Tet
Offensive. The countries involved in the offensive were Republic
of Viet Nam, United States of America, Republic of Korea, New Zealand and
Australia fighting on the side of South Vietnam. The combatants
fighting for the North Vietnam side of this conflict were the National
Front for the Liberation of South Viet Nam and the (Viet Cong) Democratic
Republic of Viet Nam.

things started today on her birthday with her 1/35 Scale Trumpeter SA-2 and Launcher.
This special model is the kick start to what I hope will be a
very good modeling year for Tracy. Great looking missile

Julian Schüngel stopped
by with his 1/48 Italeri UH-1D Vietnam MedEvac.
Julian added quite a bit of detail to his MedEvac chopper.

Huy Tran
is here
with his 1/48 ESCI Morane M.S.502 Criquet.
This is a French aircraft in French markings, but it strongly
reminds me of the birddog used by the USAF in Vietnam at a later
date.

Björn Dol
stopped by with his
1/72 Academy OV-10A Bronco.
Björn added reckets, gun pods and bombs and finished his Bronco
in markings from at
Danang in 1969
-
Triet Cam
is here with his 1/72 Hasegawa A-1H Skyraider.
Triet
finished his Skyraider in South Vietnamese Air Force
markings. This model received extra work and detailing by Triet
to get the details correct and more accurate.

Pete Brown
stopped by
with his 1/32 Revell UH-1H Slick.
Pete's diorama shows a slick hovering a few feet above the ground
and the troops disembark for a mission. Pete explains how he
built this excellent diorama in his article.

Triet Cam
joins us with his 1/72 Revell of Germany F-5B Freedom Fighter.
This model is finished in Republic of South Vietnam
markings that were kindly created by well known Internet modeler Roger
Jackson. A
very sharp looking model.

Huy Tran joins
us with his 1/48(?)
Heller Alouette III.
This helicopter was used by the South Vietnamese
VNAF forces in Indochina. Neat looking model.

Peter Huy Nguyen
joins us with his 1/4 Model-USA L-19/O-1E BIRD-DOG.
Peter is a HUGE amount of detailing to his Bird-dog....check it out.

Bud Highleyman
joins us with his model of the famous 1/48 Monogram A-1H Skyraider.
This is the Skyraider with the "porcelain"
bomb.

Steven "Flush" Tollett
has been very busy building, detailing
and finishing his 1/32 Revell F-4E.
Steven smartly used
a “G”
string from a guitar for the oxygen hoses
and special
thanks goes to Colin Ritchie for helping out on this model.

Huy Tran finishes
up today's update with his 1/100(?) Heller Nord 2501 Noratlas.
This mid 50's cargo plane has vertical clam shell cargo door on the
rear of the fuselage and is finished in Fench markings.
