Model shows this weekend:

Sean Langley starts today's update with his big and very impressive 1/32 Tamiya F-15 Eagle.  Sean dressed up the seats with some photo etch detailing and then finished it OOB to a very high level with drop tanks and a weapons load. 

Michael Hickey is here with the reboxed Accurate Miniatures.  This is his 1/48 Italeri B-25 wearing some great looking US markings for "Hell's Belles" for a B-25 that operated from Port Moresby, New Guinea mid way through WW2.

Carl Jarosz is here with his excellent 1/48 Kinetic F-84F Thunderstreak.  Carl finished this one as a Cold War West German jet with it's great looking camo and hi viz markings.  Sweet build Carl.

Greece Independence Day

Royal Navy - Sea Mosquito first carrier  landings (1944)

Panagiotis Athanasopoulos is here to mark the Greek Independence Daywith his fantastic 1/48 Hasegawa RF-4E Phantom II Hellenic Air Force.  This Greek Phantom is wearing a special anniversary paint scheme and looks perfect.

Greg Kerry did an excellent job on his 1/72 Academy/Revell OV-10 Bronco.   Greg made a diorama to display this sharp look Bronco and even included a scratch built tow bar to complete the scene.  Very nicely done Greg.

Model shows this weekend:

El Rey has been very busy adding a huge amount of detail to his 1/48 Revell P-47D "Me Darling".  El Rey used a variety of aftermarket items to improve the level of detail on his P-47 and then finished it with an expertly done bare metal finish with great looking markings including nose art.  This P-47 operated in the PTO during WW2. 

Dragan Cvetic has done a first class job finishing and weathering his Yugoslavian 1/72 Italeri MiG-29.  Dragan built this MiG-29 out of the box with subtle weathering.

Dragan Cvetic is here with his attractive 1/144 Zvezda Boeing 767-300.  Dragan built this one out of the box and finished it with some great looking Russian flag tail art.  A sharp looking airliner.

  Çanakkale Victory Anniversary 2014 

I'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to ARC Moderator Terry Sumner Happy Birthday Terry!!!

John Smalbrugge starts your week with his 1/32 Revell Bristol Beaufighter Mk X.  John finished it as an RCAF Beau that participated in the "Black Friday" mission.  A great looking build John.

Greg Kerry has done a stellar job finishing his 1/72 Hobbyboss F-84.  Greg chose some excellent and very colourful markings and then added some sharp looking airfield equipment and figures to pull together a great looking scene.

Majd Abbar is here with the 1/72 Italeri C-47 / DC3 finished in the livery of a little known Canadian airline called Austin Airways.  This airliner was finished to a very high level with aftermarket decals.


Dragan Cvetic has done a stunning job detailing and finishing his 1/72 R.V.Aircraft MiG-21SM.  Dragan dressed up the cockpit with scratchbuilt detailing and finished it with one of the nicest MiG-21 camo schemes I have seen.  Very nice indeed.

Jean-Charles Goddet starts today with his very special 1/72 Hasegawa McDonnell Douglas F-4J VX-4 Vandy One wearing Playboy Bunny tail art.  Jean-Charles picked a great looking paint scheme to finish his Phantom.

Mike Muth is here with his big amazing 1/32 Wingnut Wings SE5a.  Mike chose the markings for an American pilot flying with the Royal Flying Corps.  Mike did an excellent job bringing out the fine detail and beauty of this Wing Nut Wings kit.

Paolo Yuen joins us with the first model in Macau markings on ARC.  Paolo used aftermarket and custom made decals and some weathering to give his 1/144 Revell Airbus A319 Macau Air the perfect finish.  I enjoyed seeing this airliner very much.

Greg Kerry has done a first class job completing his 1/72 Zvezda/Revell Mi24 Hind diorama.  Greg started with an already built model and proceeded to create his crash diorama with his usual high level of skill and creativity for dioramas.  Very cool indeed.

Mauritius Independence Day

Michael Hickey is here with his eye popping Super Hornet in-flight display.   This is Mike's 1/48 Hasegawa F/A-18F wearing some great looking hi-viz markings complete with noseart and crew figures.  Beautiful work Mike.

Alvis 3.1 is here with another of his stellar what-if builds.  This is his 1/24 Mercury Space vehicle made from a 1948 Mercury with plenty of scratchbuilding to pull it all together.  And of course there is and great story to go with this cool space vehicle.

Model shows this weekend:

Paul Coppin has done a stellar job on his 1/48 Tamiya KI84-1A Hayate (Frank).  Paul dressed up the cockpit with Eduard photo etch and then built the remainder of the kit OOB.  For weathering Paul used pre-shading and finished off with some very well done peeling paint.

Carl Jarosz is here with his amazing looking 1/72 Revell F-89J Scorpion.  Carl used Bare Metal Foil to give his jet a multi paneled finish that looks quite realistic.  He carefully explains everything in his very informative article.  It's a stunning build Carl.

Shawn “phantom” Weiler kicks off today's update with something completely different.  This is his 1/72 RCN Corvette K225 HMCS Kitchener in all its glory complete with added LED lighting.  It's very cool to see this on ARC.

Klaasjan Schuuring built a very nice example of a Dutch Starfighter using the big 1/32 Italeri TF-104G kit.  Klaasjan explains the build process beautifully in his article.  It's a good looking Starfighter Klaasjan.

Ghana Independence Day

Greg Kerry has pulled together a great looking Me163 diorama.  This is his 1/72 Hobbyboss Me163 with a recovery vehicle and various figures and even period correct transport to complete the scene.  Greg does a great job on all his dioramas and I quite enjoyed seeing this one. 

Michael Phillips has done an impressive job finishing and weathering his 1/48 Zoukei Mura F-4S Phantom II - Stud 200.  Mike rates this kit very highly and his finished model is an absolute treat to see.  I love the camo scheme and weathering.

Spitfire - Maiden flight of Spitfire in 1936

Michael Hickey is here to mark the maiden flight of the Spitfire with his 1/48 Eduard Spitfire Mk. VIII.  Mike finished his Spit in Aussie markings for an aircraft called Grey Nurse with No. 457 Sqn in Moratai, Borneo in 1945.  Beautiful paint work and weathering completes Mikes Spitfire.

Graham Symmonds is here with a very cool 1/144 Dragon F-14 Launch dioramaGraham did an especially nice weathering job on his USN F-14 to make it look quite realistic.  I quite liked seeing this diorama.

Carl Jarosz starts today with his beautifully faded and weathered 1/72 Special Hobby P-40N.  This particular P-40 has sexy noseart and served in the Pacific during WW2.  It's good to see a PTO P-40 on ARC as they were rather rare.

Dragan Cvetic has been busy improving his 1/72 Bilek Shenyang J-6.  Dragan rescribed and riveted his jet and then added aftermarket and scratchbuilt detail to the cockpit as well as aftermarket pitot tube before finished up his jet as a Pakastani AF jet.  I love the camo on this one.

Wales - St David's Day

Model shows this weekend:

Alvis 3.1 begins today with his amusingly creative what-if 1/72 North American/Rockwell Hyper Sabre.  This is a spaceplane that combines the F-100 with the Space Shuttle and looks surprisingly realistic.  Enjoy this one everyone.

Mark L. Rossmann is here with a gem of an article for the "Korea – Raiders" 1/48 Tamiya A1-H Skyraider.  Mark has included some wonderfully detailed history on the Skyrders in the Korean War which is a fascinating read.  He also explains the build process for his Skyraider.
