Suriname Independence Day

Had a 12 hour blackout all day Thursday as a typhoon blew through our area of the Philippines.  Electricity was cut to keep people safe during the storm.  Imagine monsoon rain for 8 hours at a 45 degree angle due to the winds and we went out during the storm to the local farmers market to buy some food for dinner...then cooked with gas by flashlight.  :-)
