Happy New Year Everyone!!! |
|
JJ Chen
joins us from China to honor the upcoming Year of the Horse Horse
with his 1/48 Tamiya Mustang IV. JJ chose an RAF
Mustang wearing noseart refecting it's anti-Doodlebug role in the
later stages of the war. Very nicely done JJ. |
|
|
|
|
Tanel Kask
did an amazing job finishing and lighting his 1/144 Revell Boeing 737-53A BBJ.
Tanel added quite a few lights in various colors to give his
Canadian jet quite the dramatic and realistic look. Lighting a
model is not an easy job, but Tanel got the lights this one looking
perfect.

Miron Melzer
detailed and finished the
1/144 Revell F/A-18 E Super Hornet to a very high level.
Miron has darkened the panel lines and given his Super Hornet a full
weapons load and then finished it in hi-viz markings and then set it
up on a tarmac display base. Wow......truly amazing work and
hard to believe this is 1/144. |
|
|
|
|
Carmel J. Attard
has built and finished his 1/72 Pavla Typhoon Mk1 B to
his usual very high standard. The choice of markings was
fascinating as this is the Tiffie
flown by RAF W/Cdr D.E Gillam.
Carmel has included the history of the Typhoon and it's teething
problems as well as the full history of the highly decorated career
of W/Cdr D.E Gillam. It's a great looking model and his
article is a fascinating read.
|
|
|
|
|
Bartosz Piotrowski
has done an outstanding
job finishing and weathering his 1/72 Heller Mirage 2000D.

it.....this is one excellent looking Mirage. |

Shawn "phantom" Weiler has
expertly rebuilt his 1/48 Hasegawa F-14A Tomcat. This

cool it that. |
|

Carmel J Attard
has been busy building the vac-u-formed 1/72 Airmodel C-123 Provider.
Carmel sourced out the needed parts and scratchbuilt the parts
he didn't have to get this very attractive C-123 finished to a very
high level and the red and white USCG scheme looks good on any
aircraft. It is quite fascinating to read what was involved to
build this impressive and very attractive model.

Finland Independence Day |
|
|
Gregor de Ste Croix
has hit the mark with his 1/48 Airfix Bf109F-4. Gregor
built this one straight out of the box and proved these older kits
turn into great looking models. And of course the desert camo
always looks great to my eyes.

|
|
|
Ronald Beelen
is here with his East German 1/48 Trumpeter MiG 21F-13.
Ronald used a mixture of decals including some from Eduard.
I love the choice of camo Ronald chose to finish his DDR MiG.
This MiG looks fast even on the ground and Ronald captured the look
perfectly.

Jens Gerber
has done an
exceptionally nice job building,
detailing and finishing his 1/48 Italeri Grumman TBM-1C Avenger.
Jens made the seat belts from scrap photo etch and Tamiya tape and
then added further scratchbuilt details. He then finished off
his Avenger in one of his expert looking paint jobs with just the
right amount of weathering..

looking 1/72 Airfix RTAF Avro504n.
This model is a kit bash using part of the Airfix kit and the HR
resin model plus scratchbuilt details and bits from a spares
box. All these parts were pulled together with great skill to
create the masterpiece you see in the photos.

|
Dawid Smialkowski
has done a stellar job on his 1/48 KP Mastercraft Suchoj Su-22M4.
This Polish Su-22 was further detailed with a NEOMEGA cockpit and
also detail items from PART photo-etch. But it is Dawid's
skill at painting and weathering that really brings his model to
life. You will love the photos of this Su-22.

India Navy Day |
|
|
Kevin R. Ingraham
is here to mark the India Navy Day with his beautifully done
1/48 Classic Airframes Hawker Sea Hawk Mk.101.
Kevin added some aftermarket details as well as scratchbuilt detail
to further improve on the CA kit. He also offers some very
helpful advice if you are building this particular model kit.
I love the look of the finished model with it's folded wings.

Dragan Cvetic
joins us with his sleek looking 1/72 Zvezda MiG-21Bis.
Dragan added scratchbuilt seatbelts and finished off his Polish bare

good to see this bare metal MiG on ARC.

Santiago Duarte
is here with a very very early helicopter design. This is his 1/72 Special Hobby Flettner
Fl265
and if you look carefully you'll notice it does not have a tail
rotor. Santiago added extra details to improve the look of his
finished model with great success as you will see in his photos.

Frederick Smith
has taken the classic 1/48 Monogram F/A-18A Hornet
and upgraded the detail by dropping the slats and flaps and
finishing it in a retro scheme from the F-4 Vigilantes. Frederick's
weathering job looks perfect.
|
|
|
|
|
Ramon R. Lomeli
has added plenty of finely crafted scratchbuilt detailing to his
magnificent 1/48 Monogram B-25J Mitchell. Ramon then
pulled it all together with a south seas diorama base, which does
quite the job bringing this WW2 bomber to life. I really enjoyed
reading about it and seeing the photos.

Jens Gerber
starts today with a classic USN WW2 bomber. This is the 1/48 Revell / Monogram Curtiss SB2C
Helldiver
built mostly out of the box to a very high standard.. I love
the looks of the dive brakes on his Helldiver.
|
|
|
|
|
Burt Gustafson
had a grand time building the 1/48 Tamiya Me262 A-1a. This
is a high quality kit which no doubt was the reason this build a
positive experience. Burt is an impressive job on the camo
scheme....I love the look of this 262.
