Anniversary of the Chilean Navy and the anniversay of the Iquique´s
Naval Combat (South Pacific War, between Chile, Peru and Bolivia) |
|
Today, I begin the long journey
home. This actually involves a trip from the resort island of
Boracay, Philippines to the larger island where the airport is
located. I'll do an overnight stay in a modest hotel
local to the airport before grabbing a morning flight out to
Manila and then a 13 hour flight to Vancouver before the final leg
home by bus and ferry to my home island and my city of
Victoria. I expect to be offline for the next 2 updates.
Then I'll get thing back on track regarding updates.
There is nothing more corruptible
to a solid work ethic than a hot climate, friendly people and
endless outdoor restaurants on a white sandy beach with cool evening
breezes blowing in off the crystal clear waters of the south
pacific. It has been nearly impossible to figure out what the
day of week it is here......and totally beyond my scope to calculate
the time and day back home in N America.
The resort had a weak internet connection compared the my high speed
connection at home and oddly enough the internet connection was only
good in the resort's restaurant, which was very smart from
a business point of view.
Filipino people are famous for
being friendly and I experienced this with everyone I interacted
with or made eye contact with while wandering about. I do plan
to return here.....it has been a very enjoyable and memorable
experience.

Chuck Sawyer
has devoted 14 months and about 600 hours of work to building his
spectacular 1/32 Tamiya F-4E Phantom. Chuck used a
massive assortment of aftermarket items on his F-4, but it is his
craftmanship as a modeler that makes this the stellar model it is. |

Frank Daniels
has done a
marvelous job detailing and finishing his 1/32 Tamiya F-16. Frank
dressed up the cockpit and landing gear with scratchbuilt details and
finished at all off with markings for the 144th FW in California.

Olivier Barles
has done an exceptional job on his two 1/32 Hasegawa and Doyusha Nakajima(s) Ki-44 and Ki-84.
One is wearing full paint chipping and the other one has a very
complicated camo scheme. Read Olivier for all the details. |
