Homepage Text - November 2004

Tuesday,  Nov 30  2004                     Barbados National Day         Scotland St. Andrew's Day

I've change the ARC Discussion Forum link in the top banner to open in a  separate window.  This will offer a temporary fix for the constant logging in problem for the forums until the ARC domain name moves to the new server.  I'm still busy sorting out problems with the new forum and moving the thousands on images from the old forum to the new forum.

Eli at Zotz Decals has added the tiny additional correction decal sheet to his B-17 decal sheets and they are ready to sell.  Go to the Albatros/Zotz Decal website and order your B-17 sheet before they are sold out.

If you've forgotten your ARC Discussion Forum password....e-mail me and I'll help you out.  Click my name to e-mail me Steve Bamford  Include your member name.

Karl Sander begins today's update with his beautifully weathered 1/72 Revell A-6E Intruder .  Karl has included a very enjoyable read in his article....grab a coffee or tea and enjoy.  Nice one Karl.....it's excellent to see your Intruder on ARC.

Eric Bade has a pair of FW-190's.  Today he presents his 1/72 Hasegawa FW-190 A8 & FW-190 D9.  Both are 1/72 gems.

Monday,  Nov 29  2004                 Albania Liberation Day
No update today.....I'm distracted by the website move.

Please note.....The ARC Discussion Forum move went well.  The new forum is located at http://s102164210.onlinehome.us/forums/index.php?s=5c1ccf131704ea58abef4e40c573798e

There are issues that need to be ironed out with the ARC Discussion Forums.....such as folks having to log in each time they use the forums......this constant "logging in" issue will go away by itself once the ARC domain name is moved to the new server.  Back in April, I began moving the whole 3.76gig ARC website to a new server machine and the move was almost complete, but then I became totally distracted by moving my wife and kids etc to our newer home.  So now I'm completing the job of moving the ARC forums to the new server machine and moving the domain name and the rest of the ARC website to the new machine.  In the next few days the total move will be complete and everything will go back to the way it was....with some slight improvement.  One improvement is the Discussion Forums program is a newer version permitting new features.....such as an integrated chatroom.  I will be working on the new chatroom feature next.....the domain name move is in the process of being done and will be complete in the next few days.

One of the ARC dedicated servers was off line.  This caused most of the site to be offline.  Rebooting the machine seems to have sorted things out.

Dave Poff kicks things off today with his 1/72 Hasegawa Apache AH-64A.  This is one great looking Apache.....with a subtle amount of weathering to add realism.

Armin Knes has been busy building his 1/48 Tamiya MiG-15 bis and Hobbycraft MiG-17 PFU, plus RD-45 and VK-1F.  This is sure to interest the MiG fans.

Tadhg Farrelly is here with his 1/72 Italeri F 6F 5N Hellcat.  This one was built out of the box and by the sounds of it....Tadhg really enjoyed the build which is what it is all about.  Nice Hellcat Tadhg.

QC Tan joins us with his 1/72 Academy A-10 OIF Diorama.  I got quite the kick out of seeing this one.....it was no doubt tricky to do.  This was a very enjoyable diorama to see.

Dave Roof is keeping busy setting up the Bagram Hobby Club.  Here is a picture of some of the members far from home in Afghanistan.

Daniel PerezVertti...AKA Habu from the ARC Discussion Forums starts today off with his colourful 1/48 Hasegawa F-16B.  Daniel finished off his flawless F-16 in markings for the Venezuelan Viper-20 Years.

David Longhitano joins us from Italt today with his 1/48 Hasegawa Junkers Ju.87D Stuka "Picchiatello".  This is a Stuka in Italian WWII colours and I like these markings quite a bit.  This Italian Picchiatello (Stuka) turned out looking very good.

Dave Funchall has dropped by with his 1/48 Italeri MB326 Impala.  Dave wanted to go with some more interesting markings....so he did up his MB326 in South African markings.  Nice job on the BMF Dave.

Pete Hudson AKA Dr Fester from the ARC Discussion Forms has dropped by the ARC Corporate Offices with his 1/48 Accurate Miniatures TBM Avenger.  Take a ong look at this one....the weathering is well worth checking out.......simply amazing.
