This new decal sheet from Fightertown Decals includes markings for 2 different 1/48 Anniversary jets with VF/VFA-14 "Tophatters".

The F-14 markings on this decal sheet decal sheet are sized to the very well respected Hasegawa F-14 kit.

The 2 jets on this decal sheet include:

  • F-14A #200 BuNo 162698 VF-14 Tophatters 80th Anniversary scheme.  You actually get 2 gray paint schemes for this jet.  The early Cruise scheme has gray tails with red anniversary artwork covering most of the tails.  The second paint scheme is the late Cruise scheme with  white tails with big red Tophatters anniversary artwork.  Both of these schemes have black antiglare around the canopy and jet intake markings etc are in red.  National insignia are in full color.  You also get 80th Anniversary artwork for the drop tanks.

  • F/A-18E #200 BuNo 166434 VFA-14 Tophatters 90th Anniversary scheme in March 2009.  This is a two tone grey scheme with the center of the top fuselage and tails all painted in black with red 90th Anniversary Tophatters tailart.  All markings on this jet are of the hi viz variety.  This jet comes with a variety of drop tank artwork.

The instructions are clear and include multiply views of each aircraft including info about mission loadouts.  The decals are beautifully printed on 1 decal sheet with 5 insert decal sheets and includes landing gear and ejection seat decals.  Plus 2 sets of formation lights and a set of data markings. This decal sheet also includes Tophatter artwork for the exhaust covers, should you decide to go the exhaust cover route.  This is the classic top notch decal sheet you have come to expect from the fine folks at Fightertown Decals.

A very complete decal sheet with plenty of extras for anyone wanting to build a Tophatter jet.
