This new decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks includes markings for 2 special P-51D's.

The first Mustang is a P-51D-20-NA flown by Lt. Col. Glenn Eagleston with the 353rd FS, 354th FG in 1945.  This P-51 has a very large Bald Eagle on the side of the engine cowling and 23 1/2 kill markings.  The prop spinner is yellow as is a band around the nose directly behind the prop spinner.  There is a Black Magic mask to assist painting the plane for the area where the eagle decal will be applied.  Black code letters on the fuselage are FT L.  The anti-glare panel appears to be Olive Drab.

The second Mustang is a P-51D-20-NA flown by Col. Claiborne H "Zoot" Kinnard Jr. 355th FG Commander in 1945.  This P-51 is famous for the Tiger stripes on the wings and fuselage.  This Mustang has a large number of kill markings along the bottom part of the canopy frame.  The prop spinner is red as is a band around the nose directly behind the prop spinner.  There is a Black Magic mask to assist painting the stripes that is sold separately (Product # CEBM32093).  Black code letters with red outlines on the fuselage are QP A. The Tiger stripes were done in Olive Drab.

The decals were flawlessly printed and in perfect registration with good colour.

The instructions are clear and include colour drawings to assist in decal placement. There is also 1 page of text including with helpful info on decal installation and some info about both planes.

Recommended kits are the 1/32 Dragon P-51 or the 1/32 Hasegawa P-51D or the 1/32 Monogram P-51D.

The P-51 Mustang is one of the most beautiful fighters produced during WW2 and it's a definite pleasure to see these markings in 1/32.

I would like to thank Cutting Edge Modelworks for providing me with this review sample.
