This new decal sheet from FlightDecs includes markings for 5 different Canadair Sabres  Mk.2 /Mk.4 / Mk.6 from Canada, UK and Germany.  Decals include full markings for 5 complete aircraft.

The first aircraft is a Canadian RCAF Sabre Mk. 2 with 413 Squadron.  This is a natural metal aircraft based in Germany in 1954.  The Mk. 2 is equivalent to the F-86E with the narrow chord slatted wing so some modifying of your model might be necessary.  The radome, anti-glare panel and leading edge of the fin cap are black.  The intake ring is red.  Markings include a blue arrow shaped angled stripe below the canopy with squadron artwork.  On the tail is the Red Ensign.....which is the Canadian flag before the red and white maple leaf was adopted as the national flag of Canada.

The second aircraft is a German Sabre Mk.6 with JG71 Richtofen with the Bundesluftwaffe in the early 1960's.  This one wears the WW2 Red/Black Tulip paint scheme.  There is a big white JG71 Richtofen shield on the side of the fuselage under the canopy.  The tail also has the same black and red Tulip markings that are on the nose as well as a small German flag.  This jet wears a NATO standard Grey/Green camo with silver/grey undersides.....exact colours are mentioned on the instruction sheet.

The third aircraft is a RAF Sabre Mk.4 with 234 Squadron in Germany in the during 1954.  This jet wears a NATO standard Grey/Green camo with PRU Blue undersides.....exact colours are mentioned on the instruction sheet.  The radome, anti-glare panel and leading edge of the fin cap are black.  The intake ring is red.  On the side of the forward fuselage is black UK Dragon with a white background.

The fourth aircraft is a Canadian RCAF Sabre Mk. 6 with 434 "Bluenose" Squadron.  This jet wears a NATO standard Grey/Green camo with PRU Blue undersides.....exact colours are mentioned on the instruction sheet.  The radome and leading edge of the fin cap are raw fibreglas in a light grey colour and the anti-glare panel is black.  On the tail is the Red Ensign (the Canadian national flag at the time) and above that towards the top of the tail is a white "Bluenose" schooner (sail boat) on a blue background.

The fifth aircraft is a RAF Sabre Mk.4 flown by Squadron Leader A.F. Osbourne with 66 Squadron in Yorkshire during 1956.  This jet wears a NATO standard Grey/Green camo with painted silver undersides.....exact colours are mentioned on the instruction sheet.  The radome and vertical fin cap are raw fibreglas.  The anti-glare panel is black.  The intake ring and tail are RAF Roundal Blue with a white lightning bolt on the tail.

The beautiful decals were flawlessly printed and in perfect registration and the clear carrier film is trimmed very close to the crisply printed colored areas.

The instructions are clear and include colour drawings to assist in decal placement as well as having the specific colours listed with coloured sample squares to aid in the painting process.  There is also 2 pages of text including information about all the aircraft as well as the subtle differences between the Canadair F-86 and the North American F-86.

This is a definite "must have" sheet for folks interested in non-US F-86 Sabres.  Remember....this sheet is also available in 1/48.

I would like to thank FlightDecs for providing me with this review sample.
