This sheet includes the
markings for two different Kunsan Wolfpack Big Mouth Block 40 F-16C's
and one 79th FS Tiger F-16C Block 50.
The first F-16 is a F-16C
Block 50 with the 79th FS Tigers during Operation Southern Watch in the
spring of 2002. The tail has a black and yellow tiger stripe along
the top and on each side of the tail is a large dark grey Tigers head
with all the fangs showing.....this artwork is very well done.
There is also a smaller Tigers head crest on the side of the intake.
The next two F-16C's are
based at Kunsan AB in Korea with the 8th FW. Both jets sport Wolf
artwork on the tail, with the second jet having some very large
impressive Wolf head artwork on the tail. The third jet has a
growling wolfs head on the tail and the external wing tanks.
The 8th FW consists of
the 35th and 80th Fighter Squadrons. Kunsan is known and the most
forward US base and being only 150 miles (15 minutes) from the DMZ means
these jets are always in a state of heightened readiness. These
jets sit in their Hardened Aircraft Shelters HAS.
There is a definite
attraction for me with these jets due to the wolf and tiger
artwork. The wolf artwork is very well done and these jets are
very much the tip of the sword when you consider the location of their
base. And Tiger jets are just simply cool.
