After Aires
already released a Jumo 004 engine set as a kit, this time they show us a
special set with fittings and cowlings for the Me-262 from Tamiya.
The
set contains parts for 2 complete engines, 34 parts in beige resin, 28 etched
parts and finally wire. Detailing and fitting are unbelievable excellent. The
instruction is easy and complete. Aires even differentiates between the left and
right engine.
Details are
superior and you cannot compare these with the engines from Tamiya included in
the Clear Edition. For example you will find here the combustion chambers inside
of the punched covers. But you should not consider using the Aires engines for
the Clear Edition. You would not see the many details through the clear plastic.

You have to
keep in mind, that the leading edge slats of the Me-262 have been extended on
the ground. Aires would have done us a big favour if they had given us a
complete lower wing half with the integrated engine mount and the inner side of
the slats. This was a continuous box over the whole wing span with the real 262.
So you will
have some big problems when removing the complete leading edge and the engine
mount of the Tamiya wings. However, this new kit from Aires is another jewel!
