1/72 and 1/48 RF-4E Phantom II decal sheet

This new decal sheet from Invader Hobbies  is for a RF-4E Phantom II with Luftwaffe AG-51.

This colourful decal sheet is produced by Mike Grant Decals and sold exclusively by Invader Hobbies.  You get enough markings for one aircraft.  The release of this decal sheet is just in time for Hasegawa's latest release.

This is a Special commemorative 'Last Call' scheme.  The Modeller will need to mask and paint the tricolour stripes but full colour painting/decal placement instructions are supplied as you can see by the instructions to the right.  This sheet is available in 1/72 and 1/48 and is ideal for the new Hasegawa release of the RF-4E.

Mike Grant Decals produces small runs of Alps printed decals, which means the decals are on one large clear carrier film.  This is not an issue that detracts for the usability of the decals, but I like to mention it.

These decals do require a tiny bit of extra care to make sure you don't scratch them during installation, but all this is laid out in a page of text instructions that are included with the decals.

The actual decals themselves are flawlessly printed and have a level of clarity that is very enjoyable to see.  The colours are solid and look very accurate to the actual full sized plane.

There is one page of colour instructions that show the decal placement and paint scheme colours.

Prices are

  • 1/72 CDN$15.00

  • 1/48 CDN$20.00

This decal sheet highly recommended and is sure to be popular due to the fact it's a colourful Luftwaffe F-4...which is always a popular topic.
