--------------------

Three A/C are represented on this sheet from three different units.  They all deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The first aircraft is from The Gamblers of Shaw AFB.  A Block 50 machine that was responsible for a whole lot of HARM shots.  This jet was also called in to destroy an Apache helicopter that had been downed by Iraqi gunfire (supposedly) in Iraq.  The jet was called in and the helo was destroyed so it wouldn't fall into enemy hands.  There is a helo kill marking on this jet for this mission.

The second aircraft  is from the Alabama ANG.  A Block 30 machine with "Little Miss" painted on it's nose behind the radome.  13 GBU mission markings along with a JDAM marking.

The third aircraft  is a Block 30 machine from the Colorado ANG.  19 mission markings as well as a humorous "I love Explosives" sticker on the inside of the nose gear door are on this jet.  References for the two ANG jets were supplied by none other than Stephen Chapis who frequents ARC regularly.  He was a munitions guy during the deployment with the DC ANG.  Another interesting nose on the ANG jets is that they carry the PIDS pylon.  This pylon will be available soon from Plastic World Miniature Products from Belgium.

The Shaw AFB jet references were supplied by photog. extraordinaire, Greg Davis.

Not the most colorful jets in the world but a good representation of some real workhorses of OIF!

The back page of the instruction sheets contains 3 items worht noting.  First off is  a description and picture of the PIDS pylon mounted on an ANG Viper.  These are a very high tech pylon that is made in Denmark and used by the Dutch, Belgium, Denmark and US Reserves and US ANG.

The second items of interest is the story and pics of the fisherman that was first credited with shooting down the Apache in Iraq.  This story was later found to be quite false.

The third item and possibly the most interesting is a pic of our very own Stephen Chapis standing in front of an F-16.  It's a special honor to have your name or picture on a Two Bobs decal sheet.

The decals themselves are excellent.  Colours are very good and solid to ensure flawless coverage.  Some of the more complicated decals come in 2 layers to ensure the many layers of colors are in register.  A very nice decal sheet and I find the historical side of the AH-64 mission on one of these F-16's to be an irresistible reason to pick up this sheet.

This sheet is available through http://www.twobobs.net/ and select US Hobby Shops.  Overseas customers can purchase these from Twobobs site or through Twobobs network of overseas distributors.  Remember, shipping is always FREE to US Customers at Twobobs!!
