This is a new decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks.  The sheet includes markings for 4 different Bf-109E's in 1/48 scale.
The first plane is a Bf-109E3 of 3.J/88.  This aircraft was flown by Oblt. Hans Schmoller-Haldy in March 1939.  The paint scheme is RLM71 on top with RLM  65 on the underside with Spanish civil War markings.  Wing tips and rudder are white.  Prop spinner is yellow....RLM 04 perhaps.  Art work on side consists or a beer stein and a running mouse with a pistol.  The mouse looks like an early version of the Mickey Mouse that was to adorn Adolf Gallands Bf-109E-4.  On the side of the beer stein are the initials CP.....these are for the "Order of the Cardinal Paff"....an international pilots drinking club founded in Belgium.
The second plane is Bf-109E-1 of JG 132 Schlageter in Apr 1939.  This plane is yellow 12.  The paint scheme is a RLM 70/71 splintered camo scheme on top and RLM 65 on the underside with a RLM 70/04 green/yellow spinner.  Artwork consists of the Schlageter shield and a mountain goat.
The third plane is Bf-109E-3 in Apr 1940 flown by Oberstleutnant Hans-Hugo Witt of JG 26 Schlageter Geschwaderkommodore.  This plane is yellow 12.  The paint scheme is a RLM 02/71 splintered camo scheme on top and RLM 65 on the lower fuselage sides and underside with a RLM 70 green spinner.  Artwork consists of the Schlageter shield and a knight on horse back with the Schlageter shield.
The fourth plane is Bf-109E-3 W.Nr. 1190 of 4/JG 26 Schlageter in September 1940 flown by Uffz. Horst Perez.  This plane has the classical RLM 04 yellow rudder and tail from the summer of 1940.  top of fuselage is two tone grey with lower fuselage sides and underside in RLM 65.  This aircraft has 5 kill markings.

The decals were flawlessly printed and the clear carrier film is trimmed very close to the crisply printed colored areas, which is always good to see.  Colours are solid and will cover very well.  This decal sheet has a good variety of noseart and colour schemes.  Swastikas are included as well as enough national markings to do 3 of the 4 aircraft.

There instructions are clear and an extra page of text instruction is included with a small bit of info about 3 of the planes.

A very nice product and highly recommended.

I would like to thank Cutting Edge Modelworks for providing me with this review sample.
