This decal sheet is sure to be of
interest to Spitfire builders after the release of the Hasegawa and ICM Spitfire
Mk.IX kits in the last couple of years. Included on this decal sheet are
markings for 11 different Royal Norwegian Air Force Spitfires, including 9
different Mk.IX's and 2 Mk. XI's. The Mk. XI's are Photo Recon Spits in a
dark blue colour. The other Spits are in standard green/grey camo....although
standard camo does tend to vary on Royal Norwegian Air Force
Spitfires. Another interesting aspect is these planes arrived in standard
RAF paints and markings, but as they were repainted over time....the colours
used were different from the RAF colours.....RNAF camo Greens were much
greener. In general the RAF roundels were over painted with RNAF nation
markings and the camo paint and id numbers left "as is" until the
plane was given a proper repaint at a later date when repainting was
needed. The quality of the decals is first rate with no register
problems. Some stencils are not included with this decal sheet, but these
stencils if needed can be acquired from the kit decals. Below I've
included scans of the instruction sheets....there is also one page of text
telling about history of Norwegian Spitfires included with the instruction
sheets. I found these decals to be quite appealing and I look forward to
building a Norwegian Spitfire in the future. I recommend these decals to
anyone wanting to build a more unique and interesting Spitfire.
